Michael S. Alires is the founder and managing partner of Ascent Legal Advisors and a seasoned real estate attorney with over a decade of experience in Nevada. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from Valley High School’s prestigious International Baccalaureate program in 2001.

He began his legal career after earning his J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, along with a B.A. in General Ministry and M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Lincoln Christian University. During Law School, Michael interned with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada and worked in the Small Business and Nonprofit Legal Clinic.

Additionally, he served on the Student Bar Association, Graduate and Professional Students Association, and Gaming Law Journal. Admitted to practice in 2015, Michael was recognized as a “Top Rank Attorney” by the Nevada Business Magazine in 2022 and by Super Lawyers as a Nevada “Rising Star” in real estate from 2023 to 2025. He has served in key roles at some of southern Nevada’s most prominent firms before founding his own firm in Henderson, NV in 2025.

Michael partners with real estate developers, homebuilders, investors, landlords, tenants, and businesses in Nevada to manage complex transactions, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiations. His expertise encompasses every phase of real estate development—including acquisitions, dispositions, title review, easements, commercial leasing, and community association formation—ensuring seamless transactions from concept to completion.

He has deep experience guiding homebuilder clients and homeowner associations on compliance under NRS Chapter 116, drafting governing documents (CC&Rs, bylaws, reciprocal easement agreements), and enforcing HOA governance structures. His commercial practice includes negotiating leases, reviewing contracts for risk management, and providing fractional general counsel services to growing businesses—delivering tailored, strategic legal support to align with clients’ goals and protect their assets.

Michael’s proven track record, recognized by industry awards and key roles at top Nevada firms, positions him uniquely to provide high-level legal counsel in Nevada commercial real estate law, HOA compliance, contract negotiation, and business legal services.

In the community, Michael is a proud 2022 graduate (the Double Deuces) of the prestigious Leadership Las Vegas program with the Vegas Chamber. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors for Serving Our Kids Foundation which provides weekend meal bags for food-insecure children throughout Clark County and the Las Vegas valley.

When he is not assisting clients or helping in the community, Michael can be found watching the Vegas Golden Knights or outdoors with his wife and three sons camping and climbing hills on their all-terrain vehicles. In fact, the three mountain peaks in our logo was inspired by Michael’s three sons and their love for the outdoors. Michael is also Level 2 Certified in High Power Model Rocketry with Tripoli Rocketry Association.
